Going to DM the D&D game in an hour. All but two characters will be new. Why? Because when you're told in advance the crew of the Sinister Albatross is composed entirely of liches, it should really be a clue that you're not supposed to fight your way through the encounter.

Disagreeing with the others the Paladin stood aside and parlayed after the others fell; the captain was not unreasonable. The Bard benefited from Water Breathing and a timely sense of cowardice.

Curious how it was the two Charisma characters...

And also, I would dare to presume, the sort of players who don't use Charisma as their dump stat...

Verily. Though one of the dead was a Warlock. Intelligence as dump stat there...
